DescriptionAre you seeking a new and challenging position supporting a complex Program for the Warfighter? Well, look no further! This is an exciting time to contribute to a mission-critical program with lasting impactful results. Leidos is currently looking to add a Signal Software Engineer (SSWE-2) to a growing task. The SSWE will translate system requirements into software requirements, perform software design, and implement software applications and features in an agile environment. The Signals Software Engineer develops, maintains, and enhances signal processing software (e.g. detectors, demodulators, protocol processors). Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.Primary ResponsibilitiesAnalyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirementsDesign and code new software or modify existing software to add new featuresDebug existing software and correct defectsDescribe various signal processing techniquesIdentify various digital modulation techniquesWrite software using C, C++, JavaFunctional understanding of the Linux operating systemIntegrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environmentsProvide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standardsDevelop/implement algorithms to meet system performance and functional standardsAssist with developing and executing test procedures for software componentsWrite/review software and system documentationDevelop software solutions, confer with users or system engineersAnalyze systems flow, data usage and work processesModify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performanceDesign, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of designUse signal processing algorithms to convert a signalsDesign signal processing software based on sparse documentationIdentify the source of problems in a RF processing systemClearance Requirement: Top Secret/SCI with PolygraphBasic QualificationsTwenty (20) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree or equivalent on a project with a focus on Radio Frequency (RF) to include experience with Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error control coding, signals analysis tools (e.g. WVT, DVT), and digital signal processing (e.g. adaptive beamforming/ filtering, demodulation). Four (4) years of additional SSWE or equivalent experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degreePreferred QualificationsSoftware defined radio architectures (e.g. SCA, REDHAWK, or GNU)Commercial wireless standards, geolocation techniquesSoftware configuration management tools (e.g. GIT, Trac, or Subversion)Python, Eclipse IDEModel-based design (e.g. Matlab, SIMULINK)Service oriented architecture, and Linux OSExperience working on an Agile development teamKubernetesDockerCloud deploymentJavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSSReact or similar libraries (Vue, Angular)CSSRCCONMDOriginal Posting Date:2024-09-19While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
