hiring a Materials Management & Accounting System (MMAS) / Sr.
Material Compliance Specialist to support our Space & Mission
Systems (SMS) business. The MMAS / Sr. Material Compliance
Specialist reports to the Functional Area Manager of Integrated
Supply Chain (ISC) Compliance and is responsible for developing,
maintaining, and auditing the business systems and procedures
required to facilitate a high performing material management
operation.This individual must have a mastery of the Material
Control function with responsibility for implementing and leading
the Material Management and Accounting System (MMAS) Compliance
activities at BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems, ensuring
adequate controls are in place for system and data integrity for
all FAR and DFAR system criteria.Interprets regulations as they
apply to financial processes and other processes, practices and
procedures. Investigates and resolves compliance problems or
complaints received from internal/external customers, government
regulatory agencies, etc. Implements policies and procedures to
ensure that these are in compliance with the appropriate statutes
and regulations. May audit and evaluate current policies,
procedures, and documentation for compliance with government laws
and regulations.The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a
fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program
execution - from strategic capital investments, industrial
operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art
manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities
management.The Integrated Supply Chain team has a direct impact on
program success, acting as a critical chain that links the

forward and achieve true mission partnership.What You'll Do:
- Maintain an approved MMAS business system, including activities
such as, maintaining business system description, updating policies
and procedures, developing training and work instructions,
conducting periodic internal audits, and interfacing with DCMA as
CMS MMAS lead.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of inventory accuracy and system
health through a combination of robust cycle counting and physical
inventory auditing, partnering with the material management team to
drive improvement where required.
- Recognized as a Space & Mission Systems (SMS) expert in
Material Controls and MMAS with responsibility for interfacing with
DCAA, DCMA, customer and industry experts.
- Responsible for maintaining system configuration and
parameters, as well as helping to identify new functionality and
tools to support business objectives and system requirements.
- Ensure SMS system description including policies, procedures
and operating instructions comply with all FAR and DFAR
requirements.
- Lead and performs internal self-audit to ensure practices are
in alignment with SMS system description, policies, procedures and
operating instructions.
- Help train and mentor Material Control Analysts or Materials
Compliance personnel who have responsibility for executing duties
in accordance with SMS system description.
- Help train and mentor to the Material Pricing for Proposals
teams or support in executing Material Operations.
- Provide guidance on compliance with company policies, contract
requirements.
- Task and guide junior-level administrators/analysts when
assigned to the same program.
- Ensure that programs are compliant with regulatory requirements
and conducted in accordance with SMS best practices.
- Expert in management of programs including Earned Value
Management (EVMS).
- Familiar with Cost Accounting System (CAS) Requirements.
- Ensure responsibility for the business aspects of
programs.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of new or
updated SMS policies and procedures.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within
the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic
Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with
others in order to maintain a positive and productive work
environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary. On-Site Work Environment:
This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the
primary work location. Travel and local commute between company
campuses and other possible non-company locations may be
required.Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory,
cleanroom, or production floor. Required Education, Experience, &
Skills
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may
substitute for two years of experience. Related technical
experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be
from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an
agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department
of Education.
- Experience in Materials Management, Inventory Control,
Logistics, or similar.
- Experience in Defense Industry working with Material Management
and Accounting System (MMAS).
- Experience in MMAS/DFARS Compliance/Auditing.
- Familiarity with best practices for integrated planning,
inventory management and control, and requirements management.
- Experience participating in or supporting formal audit
activities.
- Ability to develop and improve processes, systems, procedures,
and policies.
- Ability to extract and analyze data for leadership and
compliance reporting.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to meet compliance
requirements.
- Ability to interface with internal/external stakeholders,
including leadership and USG agencies (DCAA).
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.A security
clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible
for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and
eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after
an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable
clearance/access.Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $116419 -
$197912Please note: This range is based on our market pay
structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
